Ask Price

In the context of foreign exchange (FX), the ask price is the price at which a market maker or broker is willing to sell a currency. It represents the amount of the quote currency (the second currency in a currency pair) required to buy one unit of the base currency (the first currency in the pair).

For example, in a EUR/USD pair, if the ask price is 1.2000, it means you would need 1.20 US dollars to purchase 1 euro. The ask price is also known as the offer price.

The bid price, on the other hand, is the price at which a market maker or broker is willing to buy a currency. The difference between the ask price and the bid price is called the spread.
